The story behind Galeta

It has now been close to three years since *galeta's Ben and Joe first tried their hand at making cookies and took them to sell down at a humble market stall on the Kings Road. Within just a few hours of setting up, the two had sold out of everything. 


After their success they returned the following week and were soon being bombarded with wholesale enquiries. The two of them were quick becoming known for their fresh baked goods made with all natural ingredients. They set themselves up at various market stalls and started experimenting with flavours; you can now get eight different varieties of our beloved cookies including mini egg cookies and our 2012 Great Taste Gold winning hazelnut and chocolate chip cookies and oat and raisin cookies


Since that morning on the Kings road back in March 2011, Galeta have gone further than just offering delicious cookies. We’ve also won 2012 Great Taste Gold awards for our squidgy, gooey, fudgy 70% cocoa chocolate brownies. We’re not bragging, but they might even be the best brownie in London. 


If brownies and cookies aren’t your thing though, we also have a range of handmade cakes (including gluten free options!), macaroons, traybakes, pies and our famous Portuguese custard tarts or Pastéis de Nata.


Over the past several years though, what has stayed the same is our passion to use locally sourced, 100% natural ingredients; you wont find any additives in our goods. And we certainly don’t have the need to use any preservatives as we still hand bake everything from scratch the day before delivery so everything arrives fresh, as it should be.


If you fancy saying trying some of our delicious goodies or if you just want to pop by and say hello, you can come to one of the many London food markets we attend each month as well as the occasional London food festival we attend for good measure.
